Altrusa is an international non-profit organization making our local communities better through leadership, partnership, and service.
Our club offers an opportunity to make a real difference in MEREDITH, NH. We undertake a variety of service, literacy, fundraising and international projects each year.
We are seeking new volunteers to join our organization and make a difference. Our members are from varying occupations and lifestyles, all sharing an interest in community service and enjoying the friendship, fun and satisfaction that comes from working together for the benefit of others.

Service Projects
Decorated window boxes at Chamber of Commerce; Filled shower caddies with scarves, mittens, hair and nail products for residents at women's shelter; Women Vets' tea and entertainment;
Donated items to Belknap house shelter for families; backpacks with supplies for high school with gift cards for footwear; mask making; muffins to shelters; Curbside pick-up meals; Valentine's and treats to nursing homes; Hosted Red Cross Blood Drive; Free Community Dinners at local community center once a month;
Literacy Projects
Library Home Delivery Program; Kindergarten Welcome Bags for 4 local schools; Back to School Backpacks; Holiday cards to soldiers;
Donations/Fundraisers
Scholarships to non traditional students; Festival of Trees Fundraiser; Weenie Weekend Hot Dog Sales; Inter-Lakes Christmas Fund; Inter-Lakes K-12 PTO and Sponsorships of summer camperships;
International Projects
Donations are sent to the Zienzele Foundation (in Zimbabwe via our contact in Vermont (a former guest speaker for our club)) to sponsor a child-headed household and/or other projects;
WE ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR ENERGETIC, SERVICE-MINDED PEOPLE TO JOIN ALTRUSA.
