SEACOAST ME

Altrusa International of Seacoast ME

Altrusa is an international non-profit organization making our local communities better through leadership, partnership, and service.

Our club offers an opportunity to make a real difference in SEACOAST ME. We undertake a variety of service, literacy, fundraising and international projects each year.

We are seeking new volunteers to join our organization and make a difference. Our members are from varying occupations and lifestyles, all sharing an interest in community service and enjoying the friendship, fun and satisfaction that comes from working together for the benefit of others.

Our Projects

Service Projects

Supporting survivors of domestic violence; providing children with tablets and headphones during domestic violence intake interviews; blankets for the homeless and veterans; support deployed soldiers; coats for Veteran’s; “Adopt a Shelf”; fuel assistance; deliver library books to homebound; assist the Veteran’s Committee with the Memorial Day Parade, Purple Heart Ceremony, Veteran’s Day Breakfast; support York Police Department; senior support

Literacy Projects

Support Head Start; STEM, STEAM, Yoto mini’s, comfort bags, light table for local libraries; backpacks/supplies for grades K thru 6; adult education centers with books; Birchtree Center for Autistic Students projects; Dover Children’s Home reading material.

Donations/Fundraisers

Donations to Birchtree Center for Autistic Children; Dover Children’s Home; Community Action Partnership of Strafford County (CAPSC); York Community Service Association; York Public Library; York Police Department; Food and Fuel; Grants and donations include Go Fund Me, Zeffy
